Monthly Gathering, 7:00pm - Picnic with the Stars!!
Come out for a potluck picnic at the Cincinnati Observatory Center. We'll meet at 7:00 on the lawn with a dish to share for dinner (bring your picnic blanket, too), and then go inside for the 8:30 "Astronomy Saturday" program. Presenter Nick Abel will speak, and then there will be a tour of both buildings, and/or telescopic viewing in the Mitchell Building. The people at the observatory would really like to know in advance how many of us will attend the 8:30 program, so if you think you can make it, please RSVP so we can give them an estimate.
Cincinnati Observatory Center is located at 3489 Observatory Place Cincinnati, Ohio 45208. Directions can be found on their website. Contact

Gen-X Sponsored Scavenger Hunt, 6:00 pm
3rd Annual GenX Sponsored Digital
Scavenger Hunt
Woohoo! It's that time of year again! Join us for the 3rd Annual GenX Digital Scavenger Hunt. Usually one of our best-attended events of the year. Come out and join us for a rollicking good time disturbing the general peace and asking strangers to let us take pictures of all sorts of odd things.
Meet at 6:00 to start picking teams (and snacking) for a hard start at 6:30. Come late, you start late, you lose points... or we'll just be gone! We'll "scavenge" until 8:30 or so, eat, and then look at all of our crazy pictures and
add up the points. Prizes? Maybe....maybe not! But you're guaranteed to have a good time - or at least have stories to tell on Monday.
Bring a dish to share and whatever you want to drink (of course you could share that, too!). We'll try to arrange people to bring burgers/dogs/buns/other staples on the Yahoo group, so volunteer there if you want that kind of an assignment. If you have a digital camera, bring that, plenty of batteries, and a
cable to hook it up to the TV if you have one.
The scavenger hunt party is at Joe's "estate" in Silverton. Email
for more information. |
