MINUTES OF MEETING – March 15, 2009
I. Call to Order - 17:20 Misty Richmond
II. Attendance
A. Excomm members Bob Charlton, Heidi Macneal, Rick Magnus, Verale Phillips, Virginia Plottel, Misty Richmond, Peggy Stapleton

V. Reports
A. 2009 RG – contract w/hotel has been signed; Camelot is the theme.
B. Loc Sec report: Renewals are in “good shape”; culture quest reqn’s must be in by March. Home tests are free w/coupon for regular test. Nominations are being requested for “national” service - 2 candidates for each nat’l office. 2 new members, 2 reinstated 382 members as of Feb. Economy and increase in Mensa dues may affect Mensa numbers.
C. Treasurer: Paulette will send in report of number of members to Nat’l. Paulette e-mailed the Treasurer’s report. Rick questioned some of the dates on the report. Rick moved to accept, Bob seconded, 6-0-0. 390 labels this month, Per Rick: Rebecca Cornett discussed a table for “World Quest” trivia competition. (non-profit rate is $350/ $40 per person to attend.) Rick discussed the possibility of letting Rebecca use CAM to get the non-profit rate.
D. No membership report.
E. Rick: 191 registrants for Mindgames, several groups from several states, w/deadline 4/3/09. CAM has 12 registrants, which makes us “top”. Many from OH.
F. The April test will be done Sunday at Mindgames; hoping for good P/R, with Barry as the proctor.
G. Mencinnatian electronic distribution problems; still awaiting printed roster. Andy had problems converting the data, causing delay in mailing “links”. Misty and Andy are shooting for April for the Roster.
H. Scholarship; from Tom Vonderahe - awaiting results. Tom out and in nursing home. The winning essays have been sent on to Regional, which precedes National consideration.
I. Activities of last month: “Penny University” collected $.10 from first meeting. Next month’s topic is Food. Bowling was fun last night for Bob F. and Rick.
VI. Old Business: Misty has received all minutes from Bryan except for April. There was a difference in opinion as to whether the minutes were final or “draft”. Honoring Tom Vonderahe was discussed. On hold for the moment.
VII. New Business
A. Activities planning
1. Monthly Gatherings.
Bob Fitzgerald discussed the Wright Patt AFB museum and a potential trip. We should notify Dayton ( & Columbus ?) as to our plans.
2. Special events

4. Heidi discussed New Member event with Stephanie. Stephanie has received several RSVP’s for the event. All current members are invited. Misty and Heidi will coordinate Penny University and New member gatherings. Penny U. will be the April MG and 5/9.
5. Charlton discussed doing the phones for 3 hours for the WMKV. Only need 4-6 people. Other volunteer activities were discussed (May perhaps).B. Future Excomm meetings:

6/13 @_____C. Bob moved that Rick be empowered to appoint financial review person for period period 12/7-12/08, second Misty, 6-0-0.
D. Discussion and possible action: what should be posted on the website on prospective group appointments. Misty envisions a listing of volunteer positions on the website. Rick worried that specific job listings would be a problem because the positions may be filled while people are still volunteering. Agreed that Misty will use her judgment.

IX. Good and Welfare - Rick discussed John Kennedy’s passing away; in memoriam. Peggy discussed another death.
