I. Call to Order – 1711
II. Attendance:
A. Excomm Members: Rick Magnus, Virginia Plottel, Heidi Macneal, CE Reutter, Bryan Mott, Bob Charlton
B. Guests: Tiffany Everett
III. Reports
A. RG – Misty Richmond (electronic distribution) – Recommendation to set registration fee for ’09 RG at $45
B. Mencinnatian - The member directory will not be in the November Mencinnatian, but may be in the December issue.
C. Treasurer – Paulette Wilson (distributed electronically)
1. Move to receive the Mind Games report and the Treasurer’s Report of the 2008 audit by CE Reutter, 6/0/0 Approved
2. Move to approve the six month report for publication by CE Reutter. 6/0/0 Approved
D. LocSec – Rick Magnus – AML Today; American Mensa is requesting votes for the top 50 Mensa web sites. Free membership evaluation for veterans during November. 2009 dues for Mensa will increase from $52 to $69 as of Jan 01, 2009
E. Membership – John Cunningham – 4 new, 1 renewal, 1 transfer in, 4 transfers out, and 1 death (Robert Dizney).
F. Mind Games – 101 registrations. Discussion and speculation about Mind Game attendance and the affect air fare prices may have.
G. Scholarship – Discussion about the scholarship program
H. Activities – Bonfire on 10/9 was a success (20 attendees), as was the Halloween party at CE’s.
I. Election – There will be a seven member Excomm for ’09. Discussion about the election results and the possible establishment of procedures for election notifications.
VI. New Business
A. ’09 RG – Move to have a 2009 Regional Gathering by Rick Magnus – 6/0/0 Approved
B. Move to appoint Marty Meighen and Misty Richmond as ’09 RG Co-Chairs by CE Reutter, 6/0/0 Approved
C. Move to allow for the setting of an early registration rate for ’09 RG by Virginia Plottel, 6/0/0 Approved
D. Activities Planning
1. Move to set the Excomm reorganization meeting for 12/13/08 at 5PM and the first ’09 Excomm meeting on 01/11/09 at 5PM (location to be determined) by Rick Magnus, 6/0/0 Approved
2. White Elephant party and games night on 01/10/09 at CE
E. Discussion about contacting new GenX members. Discussion about the assemblage of the December Mencinnatian and the need to reschedule the deadline.
VII. Good and Welfare
A. Move to thank the election committee (Barry Austern, Mike Eilers, John Schneder, and Paulette Wilson) for the work on the election by CE Reutter, 6/0/0 Approved
B. Move to express condolences to the family of Robert Dizney by Rick Magnus, 6/0/0 Approved
