Last month, I wrote about the wonderful things Misty Richmond has done with our CAM website.  It appears that I should have waited a month.

Not because the roster is now posted.  Not because of the other upgrades Misty has done to the website.  But because Misty's work has now been recognized nationally.

American Mensa runs a Publications Recognition Program ("PRP") every year.  The PRP includes both newsletter and website awards, and the Mencinnatian has received some nominations in the past.  To my knowledge, we've never gotten a nomination for CAM's website - until now.  As a result of Misty's work, the website has been nominated (with four others) for best website of a medium-sized local group.  We'll learn who won at the AG, but just being considered among the top five is a great achievement.  Well done, Misty!  And thank you.  (And thanks for the great job you did organizing our picnic, also.)

We've got a wide variety of local activities scheduled in July; consider taking advantage.  The Annual Gathering of American Mensa takes place in early July in Denver, this year; it's not too late to join over 2000 others for the "Rocky Mountain High-IQ AG."  (Or make plans now to attend next year's AG; it will be nearby in downtown Pittsburgh, and co-chaired by CAM's own Mary Lee Kemper.)  The month ends with Columbus Area Mensa's Regional Gathering; only about 100 miles away, you can come for the whole weekend or just be a day-tripper, and meet Mensans from around the region.

What do you want from Mensa?  If it's activities, please attend what we have, or contact Tiffany Everett to schedule new ones.  If it's communications with other Mensans without leaving home, consider joining our CincyMensa Yahoo Group.  And if it's something else - please let me or any other Excomm member know; we'd love to hear from you.  This group belongs to all its members, and your seven Excomm members take our stewardship seriously.  And nominations are now open for membership on the Excomm that will take office this December - if you'd like to run and make decisions for the group, you need only submit a petition signed by you and three other CAM members by September 1 (see the announcement elsewhere in this Mencinnatian).
