October 2007

October!  Crisp fall nights - the beauty of the turning leaves - the chore of raking the leaves.  Our back yard has two big oak trees so we expect a lot of leaves back there.
In the front yard we have no trees, but our neighbors kindly share leaves from their trees.

Shall we do them in stages or wait until they all fall and get it over with at once.  If we try to wait and do them all at once, chances are they will be wet or frozen.  But it is frustrating to have more leaves falling as you finish cleaning up the current batch.

Actually, I don't think it is possible to do them all at once.  It seems that the leaves just keep falling, or blowing in from the neighbors' yards.

Halloween Party

C.E. Reutter has graciously agreed to host a Halloween Monthly Gathering at her home in Clifton.  C.E. has the perfect home for Halloween complete with a turret and multiple sets of staircases that don't line up exactly as you expect them to.  The house has been in her family for three generations.  Be sure to take C.E.'s tour.  It's a very interesting house and she tells some very interesting stories about it.  Check the calendar for the details.

2008 CAM Executive Committee

Six CAM members submitted petitions for the 2008 ExComm Election so there will be no election this year.  Congratulations to the members of the 2008 ExComm:

Bob Charlton
Rick Magnus
Bryan Mott
Virginia Boatman Plottel
C.E. Reutter
Peggy Stapleton

The seventh member will be selected by the new ExComm after it is seated.

Thanks to Barry Austern, chair of the election committee for handling the petitions for us.  Thanks to Steve Fletcher and Tiffany Everett for agreeing to serve on the election committee.
