Mensa runs on the efforts of volunteers and it is only as strong as its volunteers.  The best way to improve Mensa is to volunteer.  If you are glad you have Mensa in your life, think about what you can do to make sure Mensa is always there for you.  You can be there for Mensa.

Proctors and the Coordinator

Rob McDonough has been a proctor for Mensa while he was living in Alaska and since he returned to Cincinnati.  He has served on CAM ExComm and he has been our Proctor Coordinator.  If you recently tested for Mensa, you were probably in contact with Rob.  Rob recently resigned as Proctor and as Proctor Coordinator.  He will be sorely missed.  Thanks Rob for all you have done for Mensa and for all you continue to do.

Misty Richmond has volunteered to serve as Testing Coordinator.  Since Misty is not a proctor for Mensa, her title is Testing Coordinator rather than Proctor coordinator.  Misty has worn and continues to wear multiple hats for Mensa.  Thanks, Misty, for taking this job, for serving as 1) our current RG chair; 2) RG chair multiple times in the past; 3) Loc Sec for 3 years; and for so many other ways that you support Mensa.

We have a need for more Proctors.  Proctors administer the Mensa tests.  CAM generally offers the Mensa tests every even month.  A Mensa Proctor must have a bachelor's degree and must be appointed by American Mensa.  Contact me for more information.

Thinking of running for CAM Executive Committee?

The 2008 ExComm Election is fast approaching and it is time to get ready.  Barry Austern, Steve Fletcher, and Tiffany Everett have agreed to serve on the Election Committee this year with Barry as Chairman.  The election committee verifies and counts the ballots.

In order to run for election to the 2008 CAM ExComm, you must submit a petition to the election chair by September 1, 2007.  The petition should have a simple statement to the effect that you wish to run for and are willing to serve on the 2008 CAM ExComm.  You, as candidate, must sign the petition and it must be signed by at least four other active members of Cincinnati Area Mensa.  Mail your petition to
Barry Austern.

Culture Quest

The 2007 CAM Culture Quest team (Barry Austern, Rick Magnus, Rich Hildebrand, C.E. Reutter, and team captain John Schneder) placed 16th out of 110 teams.  A CAM Culture Quest team has earned money for CAM every year since 1999 when our Culture Quest Coordinator John Schneder organized our first team.  Thanks, John.
