CAM Y'all

April 2007
This article looks like a continuation of the March article. Last month my first paragraph was about renewing and I'm sure you all did. However, for those of you who haven't gotten around to it yet and don't have a life membership or a multi-year membership, this will be your last Mencinnatian until you renew. Please do it now. We like having you around.
Also in my March column, I said goodbye to John Cunningham. In this column, I want to welcome him back. He has been medically separated from the Peace Corp. The short story is that he fell off a fence and cracked his pelvis. John's version of the long story has been posted to the e-mail lists - see Lo, how the mighty are fallen.... C.E. Reutter's version of the long story is on the website - click on the Humpty Dumpty had a great fall link. John has agreed to resume his duties as Membership / Welcoming & Recruiting co-ordinator. Thanks to Jeannette Ramirez for offering to fill in while John was gone.
CAM will be participating in CultureQuest XVIII on April 29, 2007 CultureQuest is a 90 minute quiz completed by teams consisting of up to five members and 2 alternates. All team members and alternates must be American Mensa members in good standing. John Schneder organized our first CultureQuest team in 1999. John has been our CultureQuest coordinator ever since and we have finished in the money every year. Good luck, team!
For all you serious game lovers, Mind Games 2007 will be held April 20-22 in Pittsburgh. If all you want to do at an RG is play games, then Mind Games is for you. Attendees will spend the weekend trying out some of the new games on the market. At the end of the weekend, gamers will vote on the best games. Winning games will earn the Mensa Select distinction. To register, visit the website.
And last, but by no means least, is the Annual Gathering 2007: Old Time AG, July 4-8, 2007 in Birmingham, AL. In case you have never been to an AG, they are wonderful things. You have to decide between three or four things that you really want to do at any given time - all day long - every day! Birmingham hosted the 1997 AG and did a fantastic job - plenty of food, plenty to do, and roughly 1500 interesting people. It is an easy drive to Birmingham (about 7 hours) and discount airlines fly into Birmingham from some of our surrounding cities. To register or for more information, visit the website.
