Hmmm...

September 2006

Hey, folks.  I have really had trouble writing this column for some reason. Perhaps it is the doldrums of summer, caught up in the preparations for school.  Or maybe I have just realized how boring I really am (lol).  Who knows!

It is a relatively quiet time in CAM right now.  Ex Comm has been busy with re-writing  our By Laws and hopefully you will be seeing those in the next newsletter, in preparation for voting.  National has requested multiple changes and we have done our best.  It is one of my personal goals to have this completed before this Ex Comm ends, but that is looking doubtful (just because of the required timelines).  Regardless, I will be very glad when the new By Laws are in your hands for perusal and then voting.

By the time that you are reading this the ballots will be set for the fall election and I very much hope that we have a full one!  I am sure that the candidates will be announced on the e-group (I promise to do so as soon as I can).  If you are not a member there, may I ask why not?  It is a great way to keep in touch with the goings on and it is free.  There is little traffic, so I doubt that it would feel overwhelming to you and you can be more in touch with current events.  Check out the front of the Mencinnatian for the specific site.

If you are interested in some fun, there are some great events coming up in Region 3, not the least of which is our own RG.  It occurs the first weekend in December and I will be hosting Hospitality this year.  We have some great meal managers and I promise that you will not go away hungry. Registration information is available on the CAM website.

I personally will also be attending the Outdoor Gathering (OG) in September.  It is held at Versailles State Park in Indiana and it is a lovely place.  It is rustic and very reasonably priced.  If you are looking for more indoor activities, the Pittsburgh RG is coming up as well (Labor Day weekend).  They will both be fun!  I believe that further information is available elsewhere in this newsletter.  If not, feel free to contact me personally and I will be glad to fill you in.

Of course, there are so many other CAM events going on that I am sure you are not without choices for what to do in Mensa.  And if, for some reason, you do not see something that tickles you, why not plan your own event?  That seems to be really catching on and it is very nice to see!

Have a great fall and perhaps I will see you in the woods in Indiana -
