Hmmm...

By the time that you are reading this, the new Ex Comm will have been elected and CAM will be moving right along to another RG - time flies! Look for an announcement on the official CAM elist as soon as I have results form the Election Committee. The new Ex Comm will be seated - and will elect their new Loc Sec - at the December meeting, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday the 17th. As always, any member is welcome to attend.
Enclosed in the month's newsletter is the ballot for the By Laws revision. PLEASE take the time to review the changes then read, sign and return your ballot. If you have any questions, please direct them to myself or another member of Ex Comm. Most of the changes are grammatical and none represent major changes in the way CAM operates. It is important that these changes are made, however and we need your support for that to happen!
Now, onto the fun stuff! As you may know, I am Hospitality Chair for the RG this year and I am about to beg for help from all of you. Dave MacGregor is in charge of the snack room and has asked me to beg for cookies and brownies. In addition, I am begging for myself for desserts for Death By Dessert. Chocolate, non-chocolate, we are not proud! All sweets welcome! If you can help, please contact either Dave or myself (we are both listed on the back of this newsletter).
And now for more begging (or shameless self-promotion, if you prefer). If you have not yet registered for the RG, what are you waiting for? Hmm - perhaps you need a bit more information, reasons to attend, perhaps? I can tell you that Heidi Macneal has put together a great lineup of speakers, including Nick Clooney and a guy who will show you how to make virtually EVERYTHING from duct tape! Steve Fletcher has another great lineup of tournaments and the Gen-X SIG will be serving dinner Saturday night once again. Virginia Boatman-Plottel and Nancy Heller return with their wonderful meals and you already know about our 24-hour hospitality! There will be a teen room, a kids room, a costume dance and a general good time, not to mention rumors of some naughty goings-on late Friday night. Now for the last - and the best - reason to attend. This is the way that we raise money for the scholarship fund. Have you mailed the form yet?
If you *are* registered you can expect to receive a phone call from Rob McDonough and his minions, seeking volunteers for registration and hospitality shifts. You can beat him to the punch by calling HIM to volunteer first! He is also on the back of the newsletter.
As a final word on the subject, I want you to know that I will be working very hard to make this a great RG. As you know, I am stepping down as Loc Sec and do not anticipate being very involved in the coming years in CAM activities. Therefore, I consider this stint as Hospitality Chair to be my final gift to CAM and I intend to make it a nice one. I hope that you will come to partake of the festivities and enjoy the hospitality.
