Candidate Statement:
I've been a member of Cincinnati Area Mensa since about 2004. This was an organization in which I never imagined, upon joining, becoming so involved. People, though, can have an infectious amount of enthusiasm, and I was quite happily sucked into making friends, attending and hosting events, becoming part of ExComm, being persuaded to become Gifted Children's Coordinator, and handling programming for the Cincinnati RG for the past 4 years (and the AG in Pittsburgh this past July).
Every organization ebbs and flows, and people come and go. As a part of ExComm, it is my goal to keep people talking and looking at all of the possibilities for growing our organization and becoming a social outlet appealing to the widest audience possible. My priorities include working toward expanding membership, encouraging increased participation of local members, continually broadening our event offerings, and helping grow our RG into one of the premier local events in the region (and maybe even the country).
Vote. Even if not for me, vote. It's a first step in participating. You might like where that first step leads. :-)
